The alphaeight institute chairman Bruce Stinson has been appointed to lead an interest group in Hong Kong focusing on emerging science and its applications in the practice of neuroleadership. The appointment was announced in July 2011 by The NeuroLeadership Institute based in the United States. The first meeting of the group will be held on Wednesday, 21st September 2011.

NeuroLeadership is a rapidly-emerging area of interest for scientists and businessmen alike, merging the latest brain science discoveries with training and leadership. Such convergence is fostering worldwide interest in developing cutting edge and scientifically supported strategies and models for consulting, education and management to further advance businesses around the globe.

“The worldwide interest in this field – the merging of brain science and practical areas of leadership – is growing rapidly.” Mr. Stinson explained. “The role of the local interest group is to bring together people in Hong Kong involved in neuroscience and its academic application, as well as those working in businesses or other organisations to discuss the latest discoveries and their potential impact. It provides an open forum to aid in rapidly progressing and developing the topic of neuroleadership.”

“We expect to have neuroscientists, academics, business leaders, human resource managers, learning and development practitioners and others all sharing emerging scientific ideas in a non-commercial, collegiate atmosphere where knowledge is the focus.”

For its first session, the alphaeight institute has chosen a topic which is fundamental to this area of interest: Neuroplasticity.

“Neuroplasticity is a fairly recent discovery, forever changing the long-accepted concept that the brain is hard-wired and constant. It introduces the idea that the brain is constantly changing in response to thoughts and experiences. The full implications of neuroplasticity are still being discovered so this session will feature discussions of the latest ground-breaking research.”

If you would like to be included in the mailing list of the NeuroLeadership Interest Group (HK) to receive periodical updates on interest group meetings and activities, please submit your details here.

I am pleased that we engaged your services as I believe that it is beneficial to seek support from ‘outside the family’ from time to time. I am indeed fortunate to work with a wonderful Team of professionals – united in spirit and attitude. You and your Team have added value to the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong Management Team, and for this, I am most
appreciative. Interestingly, two senior managers who have traditionally not seen ‘eye to eye’, sat down the day after session to work together on a particular outcome. I am convinced that your session had something to do with this!! Thank you”
